Brewing+ FAQ

Where is the button?

In the top-right corner of the brewing stand screen, next to the Brewing Stand title. If it is missing, check that enabled and showButton are true in config/brewingplus.json, then close and reopen the stand. Still nothing? See troubleshooting.

Does the server need the mod?

No, and it would not do anything there anyway. The mod is client-side only: every player who wants the guide installs it (plus Mycel) on their own client. Joining a vanilla server with it installed works fine.

Why does it say "Recipes: vanilla" on my server?

Servers never send brewing recipes to players; they only send which items are allowed in the ingredient slot. So on a server, Brewing+ shows the vanilla recipes and drops any whose ingredient the server rejects. If the server has custom brewing recipes, their ingredients still show up on the ingredients page with a ?, but the guide cannot know what they make. In singleplayer it reads your world's real recipes and says Recipes: this world.

Do datapacks and modded potions show up?

In singleplayer and on a LAN world you host, yes: the guide reads the recipes straight from your world, so anything a datapack or mod adds through normal brewing recipes appears automatically, with its own icons and names. On someone else's server, see the question above.

Why does a lingering potion show 0:11?

That is the real duration. Lingering potions apply their effect at a quarter of the normal length: 45 seconds of Poison becomes 11 seconds per touch of the cloud. The guide shows the same number as the potion's own tooltip. Splash potions keep the full duration.

Why splash and lingering last?

In 26.3 you can add gunpowder at almost any point, so there are often two equally short routes. The guide brews the drinkable potion first and converts it at the end, which is how most players brew and lets you stop early if you change your mind.

The stand card does not show.

It only shows while a potion is tracked (Track at stand in the guide) and showStandHint is on. On very narrow windows with a large GUI scale there may be no room beside the stand; the ghost ingredient in the slot still shows.

Does it brew for me or move items?

No. It only shows information. You still put bottles and ingredients in yourself, and the stand behaves exactly like vanilla.

Can I turn it off without uninstalling?

Yes. Set enabled to false in config/brewingplus.json and run /mycel reload brewingplus. The button and stand hint disappear until you flip it back on.
