Better Pets

Owning a dog, cat, parrot or horse, done right. /pets lists every pet you own and where it is, even when it sits in a chunk nobody has loaded for hours. Find a pet with a glow and an arrow above your hotbar, call it to you, rename it without a name tag, or give it to a friend. Your own sword no longer hurts your pets, a lead on your pet never snaps, and when a pet dies you get the exact spot. It runs on the server, so players need nothing installed.

The short version

/pets lists your pets: health, sitting or on a lead, distance and direction. Hover the distance for coordinates, click to copy them.
/pets find Rex makes Rex glow and puts Rex ↑→ 23 m above your hotbar until you reach him.
/pets call Rex teleports him to you. /pets name 2 <gradient:gold:red>Luna names pet number 2 without a name tag, colors included. /pets give Rex Steve hands him over.
Your hits, sweeps and arrows no longer hurt your own pets. Sneak if you really mean it.
A pet on your lead is pulled along when you sprint, fly or fall, instead of the lead snapping.
When a pet dies you get ☠ Rex died at -129 66 -36 (overworld), and it stays in the list until you forget it.
Server-side only: install it on the server (or in singleplayer). Vanilla clients get every feature.
