Frequently asked questions
Does Mending still work?
Yes. Orbs go through the normal vanilla pickup, so Mending gear is repaired first, exactly like walking over the orb yourself.
Do all players on a server need the mod?
No. The mod runs entirely on the server side, so installing it (plus Mycel) on the server covers everyone, including vanilla clients. Singleplayer needs it in the local mods folder, since your client is also the server there.
Will it lag my server?
Realistically, no. Per player per tick it is one box lookup plus touching whatever orbs are inside. Empty range means almost zero work. If you set the radius to 64 with a hundred players online you are asking for bigger boxes than necessary, but even that is small next to normal tick work. See features.
Does it duplicate XP?
No. It never creates or multiplies XP. Every point comes from a real orb through the real pickup code. It just collects orbs faster.
Why do I still hear a burst of pickup sounds at a farm?
Because you are picking up a burst of orbs. Each one still plays its normal sound and animation, they just all happen at once now instead of spread over a minute. That is the mod working as intended.
Can I make it only work for me, not other players?
Not with a setting; the mod is server-wide by design. If you are an admin and want it off for everyone, set enabled to false or run /mycel reload instantxp after editing. Per-player toggles are out of scope for a mod this small.
Does it work with other XP or magnet mods?
Generally yes. Anything that also collects orbs will just find fewer of them lying around. If another mod cancels orb pickup entirely, InstantXP respects that the same way vanilla would, since it uses the same pickup call. Details are on the compatibility page.
Which Minecraft versions are supported?
InstantXP 1.0.0 is for Minecraft 26.3 on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge. Other game versions need their own mod release; check the changelog.
