Configuration

Two settings. That is the whole file.

The file

After the first launch with the mod installed, you will find config/instantxp.json next to your other configs (in .minecraft/config for the default launcher, or config next to the server jar). It looks like this:

{
  "enabled": true,
  "radius": 8
}

Settings

KeyDefaultWhat it does
enabled true Master switch. Set it to false and the mod does nothing at all until you flip it back.
radius 8 Collection radius in blocks around each player. Anything from 1 to 64. Smaller feels closer to vanilla, larger turns you into a walking XP vacuum.

Changing settings

You have three options, pick whichever is closest:

  1. Edit the file with the game closed, then start the game. Simple and foolproof.
  2. Edit the file and reload live with /mycel reload instantxp in game or from the server console. No restart needed. See commands.
  3. Use the config screen from the mod list (Forge and NeoForge). Same two settings, with sliders and reset buttons.
Picking a radius: 8 (the default) comfortably covers a mining session or a farm kill chamber. If you run a huge farm and want everything from across the room, try 16 or 24. Values above 32 are rarely useful and just make the mod scan a bigger box every tick.

Broken file?

If the JSON gets mangled (bad edit, crash mid-save), the mod logs a warning and falls back to defaults rather than crashing. Delete the file and restart to get a fresh one.
